Venezuela
Aspen Venezuela's CEO, Silvio Gasbarrino led the Group's Venezuelan and Mexican teams in welcoming the Ambassador of South Africa, Mrs Thaninga Shope-Linney, Counsellor Schoeman du Plessis and various members of the South African Embassy to the Asilo de la Providencia.
Managed by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Poor, Asilo La Providencia which is located in Caracas, cares holistically for 70 elderly residents who have no financial resources, and who are in need of care and well-being.
While at the home, the Aspen team served the residents a healthy, nutritious breakfast, played board games such as dominoes and bingo with them, and assisted with their feeding.
Some 45 Aspen employees assisted on the day and helped to distribute the donated clothing, food and toiletries to the aged folk. The Embassy donated a water heater that was installed by Aspen staff and an Embassy staff assistant.
Repairs and maintenance was also carried out in order to provide a more comfortable environment for the residents.
