Ecuador
Operation Healthy Children project
Teaching children that it is possible to make their dreams come true formed part of a short presentation hosted by Aspen Ecuador’s team at the Centre of Reference and Inclusive Hosting for Children in Carcelen.
Using Aspen’s values and philosophies as the foundation for their Operation Healthy Children Project presentation, the team spent the day with 35 children, aged from 5 to 15, who are homeless, abandoned or who come from low-income families. The children who attend the institute receive school support, nutritional assistance, financial aid and spiritual help at the Centre.
After an encouraging discussion the fun began with face painting, games and a clown entertaining the children. At the end of the day, a quiz was hosted for the children to answer questions about Aspen and our values based on the information that had been shared earlier that day.
The closing highlight for the children was receiving the donations of school supplies and non-perishable foods that had been collected by Aspen’s employees. The joy and appreciation that was evident on their faces was motivation enough for the volunteers to continuing participating in caring initiatives such as Mandela Day.
