Aspen Holdings' Durban-based Group head office remained true to their commitment to the Ekusizaneni Children's Home which they have supported for the past 3 years as part of their Mandela Day programme as well as their socio-economic development initiatives.
More than 60 employees contributed to the upliftment of the 50 children at the school by donating groceries, clothes, toys, books, DVDs as well as a range of household goods and gardening tools.
Through its R100 000 investment, Aspen initiated four projects at the home. These included the installation of two water tanks, painting the outside of the hospice as well the dining hall, refurbishing the jungle gym and planting a range of fruit tress which will provide a long-term yield for the children. In addition, eco-taps have been installed and electrical requirements attended to in order to provide a vastly improved environment, lifestyle and opportunity for the children at the KwaMashu-based home.
